Toyota and Lexus Top JD Power Survey

The Yaris has been voted the supermini in first place, with an 881 point score out of a possible 1,000, in the individual model survey.
 As a brand, Toyota also ranked in second place overall, winning the Silver Award with 843 points – a further improvement on its fourth position in the 2001 survey.
Other Toyota models also scored well. Corolla ranking in 10th position overall is the winner of the small car sector; Celica in 13th place, winner of the coupe sector and Picnic in 23rd overall position the winner of the MPV sector.
Lexus has been awarded first place and the J D Power Gold Award for customer satisfaction in the UK for the second consecutive year, scoring 860 points out of a possible 1,000. The industry average is 791, up seven index points from 2001.
The survey was based on a total of almost 28,000 responses from owners of 33 brands and 144 models bought between 1 September, 1999 to 31 August, 2000. The resullts are produced in collaboration with What Car? Magazine.
